Indian coast guard(ICG) has released a job notification for the job role of  Assistant commandant(Group - A) posts. Recruiting for the posts:

𑁦 Asst. Commandant General Duty (Male).

𑁦 Asst. Commandant (Engineering & Electrical) – Male 


Age limits :

For General duty(GD) and Technical cadre posts: 

Applicant must be born between 01 Jul 1997 to 30 Jun 2001 (Both dates inclusive).


Educational qualifications:

For General Duty(GD): 

Applicant  must have minimum of 60% marks in bachelors degree(BE,BTECH & Degree) and must have mathematics and physics in intermediate and also scored a 60% marks in them individually. And students who had done intermediate without mathematics and physics are not eligible to apply for the GD post.

For Technical(Engineering & Electrical):

Applicant who had a scored a minimum of 60% marks  in the below mentioned branches of BTECH. And also 60% marks in mathematics and physics individually in intermediate OR Done a three year diploma course with 60% marks are eligible to apply for the technical posts.

(a) Engineering Branch: Naval architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace. 

(b) Electrical Branch: Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engg. Or Power Electronics.


Age relaxation:

𑁦 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

𑁦 3 years for OBC candidates.

Selection procedure:

Selection process will be conducted in two stages;

Stage - 1:It consists the following;

Short listing of applications: Short listing criteria will be based on higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination and the qualifying cut off for a particular branch or centre may be increased more than 60% if more applications with higher % are received.

Preliminary selection:  It consists of ;

𑁦 Mental Ability Test/ Cognitive Aptitude Test 

𑁦 Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT).


Stage - 2: 

Final Selection: It consists of;

𑁦 Psychological Test, 

𑁦 Group Task  

𑁦 Interview (Personality test).


List of documents:

𑁦 Two copies of computer generated pre-filled online E-admit card form along with recent colour passport size photo (Not older than 03 months). 

𑁦 Original class X th pass certificate and mark sheet. 

𑁦 Original class XII th pass certificate and mark sheet. 

𑁦 Original Degree Certificate with all semesters/years mark sheets of BE/B.Tech/ Graduation with CPA/CGPA or equivalent conversion scheme for percentage of marks from university. 

𑁦 Proof of identity such as passport, driving license, Aadhaar Card, voter I card, college ID card or any other photo identity proof. 

𑁦 Caste Certificate (if applicable) in original for OBC candidates (Non creamy layer only) as per Govt. of India format (format available in www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in) 

𑁦 Original Caste Certificate for Scheduled Caste (SC) & Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates as per Govt. of India/ State Govt. 

𑁦 Income Certificate for EWSs (Economically Weaker Sections) as per Government of India Format (no other format will entertained) available on ICG website. 

𑁦 Character certificate. (Should not be older than six months on the date called for PSB). (k) Twelve recent colour passport size photographs with blue background. 

𑁦 Candidates not in possession to above documents will not be permitted to appear for the written examination.


Medical Test:  candidates who qualified in the Final Selection Board will undergo Medical examination at nearest Military Hospital .

(a) Height:

(i) Asst. Commandant (GD): 157 cms minimum. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations. 

(b) Weight: Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable. 

(c) Chest: Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms.


 

Travel Allowance: To & Fro travelling fares by AC III/Chair Car or actual normal bus fare by shortest route (only from the current or permanent address mentioned in E-admit card) to the candidates appearing first time in FSB (Stage-II) will be reimbursed on production of original tickets only. The SC/ST candidates will be reimbursed IInd class railway/bus fare for PSB and FSB irrespective of the number of appearances.
